Writing a planned rebalance note you will still respect in two weeks

A short template for the planned-action column: size intent, personal gate, and an honest wait option.

Planned rebalance actions die when they sound like slogans. “Trim if up” is not a plan. A note that survives a fortnight usually has three parts.

Size intent without false precision

“Reduce this label toward roughly one-fifth of the watchlist” is enough. Exact satoshis can wait until the evening you unlock the device.

A personal gate

Rent cleared, bonus received, sibling available to co-sign, hardware wallet back from the safe deposit box — write the gate that is actually yours. Market folklore does not count as a gate here.

Permission to wait

Include an explicit wait condition. If the gate fails, the action stays listed but unmarked. That is how the Rebalance Desk avoids turning the terminal into a guilt machine.

When several notes pile up, a sixty-minute rebalance walkthrough is often enough to mark do / wait / drop without a full holdings review.
