About the desk
How Software Dev Space grew from rainy-window desk work in Kowloon into a calm place to follow self-custody holdings.
Why this desk exists
Self-custody means you hold the keys. It also means balances live in more than one place, and rebalance intentions get lost in chat threads and half-finished notes. Software Dev Space began as a personal evening habit: a single desktop watchlist of holdings already under our own control, plus a column for planned rebalance actions — nothing that screamed for attention, just a readable list by the window.
That habit became a small practice in Hung Hom. People asked to sit with the list, not to hand over custody, but to talk through drift and the moves they had already written down.
Where we work
Our office is at Harbourfront Landmark, 11 Wan Hoi Street, Hung Hom, Kowloon, Hong Kong. Sessions happen here or by screen-share when travel or weather keeps you at home. The harbour edge and the rain on the glass set the pace: unhurried, precise, without market theatrics.
How we approach a review
We treat your watchlist as your record. Labels stay yours. We ask about constraints you already know — liquidity for rent, a known tax year, a trip that delays hardware-wallet access — and we write those into the rebalance notes. We do not invent urgency. If a planned action should wait, we mark it wait.
People
The desk is run by practitioners who have kept their own self-custody stacks for years and who prefer quiet documentation over loud forecasts. When we sit with you, one person leads the session; notes are dual-checked before they leave our inbox.
Values that show up in the work
- Custody stays with you. Keys never leave your hands.
- Plans over predictions. The terminal records what you intend; it does not shout what the market “must” do.
- Readable evenings. If a label confuses you at 10 p.m., it needs rewriting now.
If that matches how you already think about holdings, book a holdings review or open the desktop terminal from Microsoft Store when you are ready to populate the list yourself.
